Werkman Tech Vacuum Glazing Installer
Let’s reglaze your existing sashes with Werkman Tech Vacuum insulated Glazing (VIG).

Scott James Sash Window Specialists is an experienced VIG glass installer serving East Anglian and London, we install the whole range of VIG glazing products including Werkman Tech Vacuum Glazing.
One of the most important distinctions between vacuum glazing brands is the visibility of the micro-pillars that hold the two panes apart.
These tiny support pillars are a necessary feature of all vacuum glass—they prevent the panes from collapsing inward under atmospheric pressure but they can be noticeable when viewing the glass up close.
Werkman Tech has engineered some of the smallest support pillars currently available on the market.
Measuring less than 0.5mm in diameter and arranged on a wider 50mm grid, Werkman’s structural steel layout is designed to be significantly less visible than many competing brands.
For context, some alternative VIG products require pillars placed on a dense 20mm grid, or use larger 0.75mm titanium spacers.
For homeowners who care deeply about the unblemished clarity of their glass particularly in period properties where windows are a prominent architectural feature this reduced visual disruption is a major advantage.
If minimising pillar visibility is a priority for your restoration project, Werkman Tech is an exceptional choice.
What is Werkman Tech Vacuum Glass?
Werkman Tech Vacuum Insulated Glass (VIG) is the 21st-century replacement for traditional double and triple glazing. Unlike standard double glazing that uses inert gases like argon or krypton to slow heat transfer, Werkman Tech units feature a 0.3mm vacuum cavity between the panes.
Because heat cannot transfer through a vacuum, these ultra-thin units achieve extraordinary thermal performance.
With an overall thickness starting at just 8.3mm, Werkman Tech’s Heritage Range delivers an exceptional U-value of 0.452 W/m²K.
This level of thermal insulation far surpasses standard double glazing (typically around 1.2 W/m²K) and even outperforms bulky 38mm triple glazing (0.8 W/m²K).
For homeowners with period properties, this means you can achieve modern energy efficiency while retaining your original wooden sash window frames.
