Edwardian sash windows reglazing

Our recent project involved reglazing original wooden-framed Edwardian sash windows by replacing the single glazing with slimline double-glazed units.

Due to the client’s tight project timeline and the longer lead time required for VIG glazing, he opted for locally sourced slimline double glazing.

Scope of work:

  • Restoration
  • Draught-proofing
  • Double glazing retrofit – install slimline double glazing units into existing sashes by retain the original glazing bars

While the scope of works did not include painting the sash windows, our team has nonetheless primed the inner boxes and sashes.

Lead Time and Work Schedule

  • Glass order lead time: 1 week
  • On-site work duration: 1 week

Total estimated duration: 2 weeks

Please note that the timeline may be subject to change based on supplier availability or weather conditions.

Side-by-side photos show a sash window from inside and outside a brick house, with scaffolding and neighboring homes visible through and reflected in the glass.

The windows are now double glazed and ready to be painted.
